Three-Part Teaching Series: The Abolition of Man
The Abolition of Man is widely considered to be C.S. Lewis’s most important non-fiction work. Indeed, the National Review puts it at #7 on its list of the 100 most important non-fiction works of the 20th century. In this book, Lewis explores the problem of moral subjectivism and offers a prophetic warning, suggesting that such relativism will have dire consequences. We see those consequences playing out before our eyes, in much the way that Lewis predicted they would.
In this three-part online seminar, Dr. Bryan Hollon will guide participants in a reading of this important work. Participants will receive an email each month providing summaries and discussion questions to help you prepare for the online meetings.
During the online meetings, Dr. Hollon will provide a presentation and explanation of the reading, participants will have an opportunity to engage in breakout room discussions before reconvening and wrapping up the session. Each session will take approximately 1.5 hours.
After purchasing the ticket, you will receive an email with instructions for accessing the Zoom event or participating via a small home-group.
Participants will purchase one ticket for access to all three sessions, which will take place according to the following schedule:
Session One: Thursday, November 5th at 7:00 pm (Chapter 1)
Session Two: Thursday, December 3rd at 7:00 pm (Chapter 2)
Session Three: Thursday, January 7th at 7:00 pm (Chapter 3)
